Pay Rate: $25.00 – $38.00 per hour (DOE)

Flex Tech is seeking Licensed Security & Access Control Technicians for commercial new construction and retrofit projects throughout the Austin, TX area. Our clients expect skilled, reliable technicians who consistently exceed expectations—and we reward those who rise to the challenge.

Key Responsibilities

Install structured cabling and security system infrastructure

Terminate and install devices including:

Electric strikes
-
Card readers
-
Magnetic locks
-
Motion detectors
-

Install, terminate, and test:
-
Access control systems
-
CCTV systems
-
Intrusion and security systems
-

Read and interpret blueprints and system drawings
-
Assist with system testing, inspections, and service calls
-
Perform inspections and system re-certifications on existing systems

Provide basic end-user instruction and customer interaction
-
Lead small to large crews on new installations when required

Maintain clean, organized, and safety-conscious jobsites
Required Qualifications
-
Current Texas Low Voltage / Security License (as required by role)

6 months to 5 years of commercial installation experience

Experience with access control, CCTV, and intrusion systems

Ability to complete full cable installation and device terminations

Ability to read blueprints and system documentation

Willingness to work days, nights, and weekends as required

Valid driver’s license

Reliable transportation to Houston-area jobsites

Ability to travel throughout the local market

Must pass a drug screen and background check

Strong commitment to jobsite safety and professionalism
Preferred Qualifications

Experience leading or training technicians onsite

Service and inspection experience

Willingness to travel outside the Austin market (not required)
