Job Description

Flex Tech is seeking experienced Data Center Fiber Technicians for a long-term mission-critical infrastructure project in Bowling Green.

This role supports fiber optic and low-voltage installations within data centers, hospitals, and commercial construction environments, including both new construction and renovation projects.

We are looking for dependable, hands-on technicians who take pride in producing clean, high-quality installations while working safely in active construction environments.

NOTE: This is NOT an IT position. This is a hands-on commercial construction role working in active construction and data center environments.

Responsibilities

  • Pull, route, secure, and dress fiber and copper cabling
  • Install pathways, supports, and back boxes
  • Terminate fiber and copper cabling including patch panels and jacks
  • Install low-voltage devices including:
    • Cameras
    • Card readers
    • Nurse call systems
  • Perform cable testing and troubleshooting using:
    • OLTS
    • Light source/power meter
    • OTDR (preferred)
  • Read and interpret:
    • One-line diagrams
    • Patch schedules
    • Construction drawings
  • Label and document completed work accurately
  • Maintain OSHA and PPE safety compliance at all times
  • Collaborate with supervisors and project teams to complete installations efficiently

Qualifications

Required

  • 2+ years of experience in:
    • Data center environments
    • Commercial low-voltage construction
    • Fiber optic installations
  • Ability to travel full-time
  • Ability to work in active construction environments
  • Reliable transportation
  • Strong work ethic and dependable attendance
  • Comfortable using hand tools and testing equipment

Preferred

  • Experience with fiber testing equipment
  • Familiarity with:
    • TIA/EIA standards
    • BICSI standards
    • Fiber color codes
  • OTDR experience
  • Vocational, trade school, or apprenticeship training
